Let us help you find your new BFF greenspace <3

William & Mary students: Get your virtual Park Prescription!

1. Visit the Virtual Park Rx Office (Zoom room 915 7117 6618), open every Friday from 12pm-1pm (EST) starting February 12th, 2021.

    • Through Zoom, a Park Rx Ambassador will ask you about your park preferences and provide you detailed information about possible park destinations.

    • Upon entering the Zoom room, you will be placed in a waiting room until the Park Ambassador is available.

    • Sessions last 15-30 minutes.

    • During these times of distance, we highly recommend coming to the Zoom room for some much needed human interaction!

2. Fill out the online Park Rx form @

    • The form asks a variety of questions that will help us curate your desired park experience. Please fill out as many of the questions as you can to help us guide you to the correct park.

    • Once the form has been submitted, you will receive an email response by the end of Friday every week. (Anything submitted on that Friday or Saturday will be responded to the following week). This email will contain the recommended parks, including activity and transportation information.

In 2017, the PRL Park Rx program was recognized as an innovative best practice in the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education's Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS) report.

Campus Park Rx enhances health and well-being on the W&M campus by helping students find and enjoy local greenspace.

Abundant scientific research demonstrates that access to and use of parks and other green spaces can play a significant role in the treatment and prevention anxiety, depression, obesity, and attention disorders.

The PRL team has visited and rated over 150 parks in Virginia for access, safety, amenities, and possible activities. We organized this information in a sophisticated online search tool used by our trained Park Ambassadors. PRL interns train W&M students as Peer Park Ambassadors, and at tabling events, PPA's use our signature database of local parks to refer their fellow students the best outdoors spaces for their interests, needs, transportation options, and schedule.
